Image-Guided Pain Injections

Precisely targeted injections that calm inflamed nerves and joints — so you can get back to daily life and physical therapy.

How image-guided injections work

Each injection combines anti-inflammatory medication with a numbing agent, delivered under live fluoroscopy (X-ray) guidance. Imaging lets our radiologists place the medication exactly where it's needed — improving both safety and effectiveness. Relief can last from weeks to several months depending on the procedure and the individual patient.

Injections we offer

Epidural steroid injection (ESI)

Treats inflammation of the spinal nerves. Medication is delivered into the epidural space to reduce swelling and relieve back, neck or radiating limb pain.

Selective nerve root block (SNRB)

Targets a specific nerve root to both diagnose and relieve back or leg pain. Because it isolates a single nerve, it also helps your physician pinpoint the exact source of your symptoms.

Facet joint block

Addresses lower back pain arising from the small joints along either side of the spine, using a precisely placed numbing injection.

Sacroiliac (SI) joint block

Both diagnoses and treats pain from sacroiliac joint dysfunction or inflammation, where the spine meets the pelvis.

Conditions we treat

  • Chronic back and neck pain
  • Spinal nerve inflammation
  • Arthritic and mechanical pain
  • Leg pain radiating from the spine
Getting back on your feet: Many patients use the relief from these injections to comfortably return to normal routines and make real progress in physical therapy.
